About

Synopsis

The Adventures of Huck Finn (1993) is Walt Disney Pictures' adaptation of Mark Twain's novel that you can watch online on iFILM. Director Stephen Sommers centers the story on Huck — played by a young Elijah Wood — whose greatest threat isn't the Mississippi River but his own violent, drunken father coming back to claim an inheritance.

Huck fakes his death and runs. At the riverbank he meets Jim, a slave making his own break for freedom, portrayed by Courtney B. Vance. The two push off on a raft together and the river keeps delivering trouble: con men called the King and the Duke, played by Jason Robards and Robbie Coltrane, attach themselves to the pair and cause mayhem at every stop.

The film keeps Twain's spirit — the friendship between a white boy and a Black man that neither society approves of — while delivering it as an accessible family adventure. Stream The Adventures of Huck Finn (1993) online on iFILM.
