I, Tonya

I, Tonya (2017) is Craig Gillespie's dark comic biopic you can watch online on iFILM. Margot Robbie plays Tonya Harding, the figure skater whose name owned American front pages in the early nineties.

A poor kid pushed onto the ice at four by a mother (Allison Janney) whose idea of love was a slap and a cigarette. Tonya lands a triple axel no American woman had pulled off in competition, yet the judges keep marking her down for being too rough, too far outside their country-club world. Then her husband Jeff (Sebastian Stan) and his delusional buddy (Paul Walter Hauser) cook up the now-infamous assault on rival Nancy Kerrigan, and the whole career shatters. Gillespie tells it as a mockumentary, with everyone talking straight to camera and everyone lying their own way.
