When the men of a British army base deploy to Afghanistan, the women left behind have to fill 112 days somehow. Stiff-upper-lip base commander Kate and straight-talking Lisais are as mismatched as two people can be. Their solution — forming a choir — is met with groans, then reluctant attendance, then something that starts to matter. Most of them cannot sing. That turns out not to be the point.
