The Tenant

Polanski plays the lead himself, and his frightened, slowly dissolving face carries the film. Isabelle Adjani is Stella, the one person who seems to be on his side.

This closes the director's so-called apartment trilogy after Repulsion and Rosemary's Baby, adapted from Roland Topor's novel.
