Synopsis
Cool Runnings (1993) is a sports comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Jon Turteltaub builds it from an unlikely truth: four young men from Jamaica, a place where snow only shows up in postcards, decided to field their own bobsled team.
It opens on a stumble. Sprinter Derice trips at the trials and loses his spot at the Games. Refusing to quit, he tracks down a washed-up former bobsled champion, played by John Candy, and talks him into coaching. What follows is a sled pushed down asphalt, drills with no ice, and rivals who treat them as a joke. The four islanders head to freezing Calgary, twenty below and no one betting they'll even reach the start line.
