Synopsis

Young Martin can't sleep. A figure named Diana visits his mother Sophie whenever the lights go down, and vanishes the instant they come back. His estranged half-sister Rebecca (Teresa Palmer) left home years ago and has no patience for childhood night terrors. When the boy starts wasting away, she comes back to find out what this thing in the shadows really is and why it clings so tightly to their mother. Maria Bello plays Sophie, a woman whose illness and the darkness pull her toward the same edge.
Sandberg expanded his own viral short into a feature, produced by James Wan. Eighty lean minutes built on one cruel rule: light keeps you alive, dark gets you killed. Made on a tiny budget, it pulled in over a hundred million at the box office. Stream Lights Out (2016) online on iFILM.
