Trigger (Триггер, 2020) is a Russian psychological drama you can watch online on iFILM, with Maksim Matveev as Artyom Streletsky — a therapist whose sessions look nothing like therapy. He shouts, mocks, and deliberately destroys his clients' comfort, forcing them to the edge of a breakdown. His argument is that real change only happens there. He's usually right.

Then a patient dies. A court sends Artyom to a penal colony for eight years. His wife Dasha, played by Svetlana Ivanova, files for divorce; his license is revoked. When he gets out, he doesn't quietly retrain. He goes straight back to the same method, case by case, convinced the fault was not in the approach — and determined to prove it. His father Alexander, played by Igor Kostolevskiy, watches from a careful distance.

Produced by Sreda and Plus Studio for Kinopoisk, the series reached four seasons and 40 episodes by 2024, with more in production.
