Synopsis
The Year Without a Santa Claus (1974) is Rankin/Bass's beloved stop-motion holiday special you can watch online on iFILM. Santa has a cold and a growing suspicion that nobody really cares whether he shows up this year. Mrs. Claus disagrees — and sends two elves, Jingle and Jangle, to find proof that Christmas spirit still exists.
Their mission leads them to Southtown, a place where snow has never fallen in December. To get it there, they have to deal with the Miser Brothers — Heat Miser and Snow Miser — who haven't agreed on anything in centuries. Mickey Rooney voices Santa, with Shirley Booth as Mrs. Claus. The Miser Brothers' musical numbers became so iconic they've been quoted, parodied and covered ever since.
