Synopsis
The Glass Castle (2017) is Destin Daniel Cretton's drama you can watch online on iFILM. Grown-up Jeannette has a steady job as a New York gossip columnist and works hard not to think about the childhood she clawed her way out of.
That childhood went like this: no fixed address, midnight moves, a dreamer of a father forever promising to build his girls a palace made of glass while drinking away whatever cash the family had. Brie Larson plays the adult Jeannette; Woody Harrelson is her father Rex, charming and impossible in the same breath; Naomi Watts is the mother who always put her own painting ahead of feeding the kids. The film keeps cutting between a broke past and a comfortable present that refuses to stay buried.
