Synopsis

Michael B. Jordan plays Stevenson, a Harvard law graduate who sets up a practice for death-row inmates too poor to afford real representation. His toughest client is Walter McMillian, played by Jamie Foxx, a Black pulpwood worker condemned to die on the word of a single unreliable witness. The physical evidence points the other way. The town's police, its prosecutor, and its history do not. Brie Larson appears as Eva Ansley, the advocate who keeps the small operation running.
