What We Do in the Shadows (2019) is the FX mockumentary comedy you can watch online on iFILM. A film crew trails four vampires who have shared a crumbling house on Staten Island for several hundred years.

They once terrorized the Old World. Now Nandor the Relentless gives orders but forgets the names of his own victims, while the aristocratic Laszlo and Nadja bicker like any couple stuck together too long. Their roommate Colin Robinson is an energy vampire who drains people by boring them senseless in meetings. Looking after all of them is Guillermo, a human familiar desperate to be turned — who also turns out to be the deadliest killer in the house. Immortality here is mostly arguments about chores and unpaid bills.

The show grew out of the 2014 New Zealand film by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement, who both stayed on as showrunners and occasionally direct. Matt Berry as Laszlo is endlessly quotable, and the series has racked up a pile of Emmy nominations. Bone-dry, absurd, and never once self-important.
