Synopsis
Sherlock: The Abominable Bride (2016) is the BBC detective special you can watch online on iFILM. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman move the famous duo out of modern London and back into the fog of 1895.
Victorian London has a problem. A bride named Emelia Ricoletti guns down strangers from a balcony, then takes her own life, only to be seen alive and shooting again hours later. The case of the ghost in the wedding dress lands with Holmes and Dr. Watson (Freeman). Around them gather Mrs Hudson (Una Stubbs), Inspector Lestrade (Rupert Graves), brother Mycroft played by Mark Gatiss, and the ever-looming Professor Moriarty (Andrew Scott). The special slyly stitches its period mystery to the events of the series, and the line between the two keeps slipping.
Written by showrunners Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss and directed by Douglas Mackinnon, this is a treat built for fans: rapid-fire deductions, sharp dialogue and a puzzle about what is really unfolding inside the detective's head. Stream Sherlock: The Abominable Bride (2016) online on iFILM.
