About

Synopsis

Marlowe (1969) is a sharp Hollywood crime picture you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Paul Bogart and based on Raymond Chandler's novel The Little Sister. James Garner plays private eye Philip Marlowe, hired by a soft-spoken young woman to track down her missing brother on the streets of Los Angeles.

The case turns lethal fast. Leads get killed, threads point toward blackmail and faded television celebrities, and nobody involved wants to be found. A young Bruce Lee shows up as a menacing enforcer — a cameo that outlasted the film in popular memory — while Carroll O'Connor, Gail Hunnicutt and Rita Moreno fill out the shadowy supporting cast.

Released at the tail end of classic Hollywood noir, Marlowe plays like a deliberate farewell to the genre: no flashy production, just clean dialogue, dense atmosphere and a plot that keeps tightening. Fans of old-school detective fiction with real teeth will find this one rewarding. Watch Marlowe (1969) online on iFILM.
