Brothers

Brothers (Brødre, 2004) is a Danish war drama from director Susanne Bier, available to watch online on iFILM. Officer Michael ships out to Afghanistan on a peacekeeping mission and is reported dead after his helicopter goes down. His wife Sarah is left to grieve. So is his younger brother Jannik — the family black sheep, fresh out of prison and never once taken seriously.

Starring Connie Nielsen, Ulrich Thomsen and Nikolaj Lie Kaas, the film tracks two men unravelling in opposite directions at the same time. Jannik steps up in ways nobody expected. Michael, taken prisoner and forced into a brutal act of survival, comes home a stranger to himself. The reunion that should bring relief instead tears everything open.
