Synopsis
Batman: Gotham Knight (2008) is an animated action film you can watch online on iFILM. It is an anthology of six short films, each running 11 to 15 minutes and each drawn by a different Japanese studio in its own style. One hero, six ways of seeing him.
The shorts fill the gap between Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Gotham teenagers argue over what Batman really is: a man, a shadow, or a machine. Street gangs tear around on hovering boards. Bruce Wayne tests a new suit, hunts a dealer pushing a fear-erasing drug, and runs into Deadshot, an assassin who never misses. An old wound keeps surfacing too, a bullet fragment lodged near his spine that could drop him mid-fight.
The project drew on talent from the anime industry, including Yoshiaki Kawajiri. Kevin Conroy returns to voice Bruce Wayne, the same actor who defined Batman in the celebrated 1990s cartoon. The whole thing runs just 72 minutes. Stream Batman: Gotham Knight (2008) online on iFILM.
