Captain Yoo Si-jin (Song Joong-ki) leads an elite army unit and solves problems by force. Dr. Kang Mo-yeon (Song Hye-kyo) heals people and hates weapons. They meet in Seoul, split over principle, then end up together again in the fictional war-torn country of Uruk, where a peacekeeping deployment and a massive earthquake throw them into the same crisis. A second couple runs alongside them: Sergeant Seo Dae-yeong and Lieutenant Yoon Myung-ju, whose romance her general father refuses to bless.

All sixteen episodes were shot before the broadcast even began, with much of the location work filmed in Greece.
