Red Tails

Red Tails (2012) is Anthony Hemingway's war drama you can watch online on iFILM. Produced by George Lucas, the film follows the Tuskegee Airmen, the first Black fighter pilots flying combat missions for the United States.

It is wartime Italy, and these aviators have earned their wings only to be kept far from the action, stuck patrolling rear areas in worn-out planes. Their opening comes when bomber crews start dying in the skies and someone has to escort them through enemy fighters. A colonel played by Terrence Howard fights the brass for a real assignment, and the men with the crimson-painted tails finally show what they can do.

The cast includes David Oyelowo, Nate Parker, Michael B. Jordan, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Bryan Cranston. The dogfights are shot like an old-school Hollywood blockbuster rather than a sober documentary.
