Synopsis
Only the Brave (2017) is a fact-based firefighter drama you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, it stars Josh Brolin and Miles Teller.
The story sits in Prescott, a small Arizona town. Crew boss Eric Marsh has spent years pushing to get his municipal wildfire team certified as a hotshot unit, the elite few sent straight at the flames. A recovering addict named Brendan talks his way onto the roster, desperate to clean up for his baby daughter. Brolin plays the stubborn leader; Teller plays the rookie grinding to earn a spot. Jeff Bridges and Jennifer Connelly round out the cast, Connelly as Eric's wife, who watches him leave for another fire season that never sends everyone home.
The screenplay grew out of a GQ magazine piece on the Granite Mountain Hotshots and what happened during the summer of 2013 near the town of Yarnell.
