The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse (2019) is a psychological thriller with a streak of folk horror you can watch online on iFILM. Robert Eggers directs, and Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson carry every minute of it, trapped together on a bare rock in the sea.

It is the 1890s. Young Ephraim Winslow signs on as assistant to grizzled keeper Thomas Wake. Wake works him like a slave, keeps him away from the lamp at the top, and drinks himself loud every night. Four weeks become a storm-bound siege. The supply boat never comes, the liquor never runs out, and Winslow stops being sure what he hears: gulls, a foghorn, a mermaid on the rocks, his own name.
