Spellbound

The romance does not last. Constance, played by Ingrid Bergman, starts noticing odd cracks in her lover: he panics at the color white, fumbles his own past, and clearly is not the man he claims to be. The truth surfaces slowly. Behind the Edwardes name hides an amnesiac (Gregory Peck) tangled in a possible murder. Convinced of his innocence, she smuggles him to her old mentor and tries to dig out the buried memory through dream analysis.

Producer David O. Selznick hired Salvador Dalí to design the famous dream sequence, all warped eyes, scissors and endless staircases.
