Synopsis

Lloyd Dobler has no real plan for his future. He wants to try kickboxing, and he's fallen hard for Diane Court, the valedictorian everyone expects to leave for a scholarship in England. Nobody thinks they belong together. Then Diane says yes. The real obstacle turns out to be her father, who has shaped every part of her life and sees Lloyd as a threat to her ambitions. John Cusack and Ione Skye make every awkward glance feel true.
