A single murder ends that distance. Alex finds himself cutting deals across three continents — with Israeli fixers, Indian crime networks, and Russian oligarchs living in comfortable exile. Alexei Serebryakov plays his father, David Strathairn an American investigator tracking the money, and Faye Marsay his girlfriend Rebecca, who starts asking questions Alex cannot answer. Director James Watkins adapted journalist Misha Glenny's non-fiction book on global organized crime, keeping the financial plumbing front and center: the series builds tension through wire transfers, family dinners, and quiet airport handoffs rather than gunfights.
