Synopsis
Life (2015) — watch online the biographical drama directed by Anton Corbijn, with Robert Pattinson as LIFE magazine photographer Dennis Stock and Dane DeHaan as a young James Dean still figuring out what fame will cost him. Corbijn himself spent decades behind a lens shooting rock legends, and that eye shapes every frame here.
The story unfolds in 1955: Stock is broke, restless, and in need of a break. Dean has just wrapped "Rebel Without a Cause" and is not yet the myth. Their odd partnership takes them from Manhattan jazz clubs to a rural Indiana farm — Dean's family homestead — while Stock hunts the shot that will define both their careers. Dean keeps his distance, then lets the camera in, then pulls back again. Joel Edgerton and Ben Kingsley round out the cast as the industry figures hovering at the edges of this unlikely friendship.
Corbijn shoots the whole thing in muted tones that feel lifted from a contact sheet, with a jazz score that plants you firmly in mid-century America. Stream Life (2015) online on iFILM — two men at a turning point, one chasing immortality, the other just trying to press the shutter at the right moment.
