Synopsis
This Boy's Life (1993) is a drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Michael Caton-Jones and drawn from Tobias Wolff's memoir of his teenage years in 1950s America.
Caroline (Ellen Barkin) is on the run from her own past, dragging her younger son Toby across the country in search of somewhere to start over. They settle in the quiet Pacific Northwest, where she meets a courteous mechanic named Dwight, played by Robert De Niro, and marries him hoping to give the boy a home and a stepfather. The good manners are a mask. Dwight belittles, polices and grinds the boy down day after day. Toby, played by a young Leonardo DiCaprio, schemes to get out, even if it means forging his own way to a new school.
