Synopsis
Watch online as a single trigger pull turns into hours of agonising debate in Eye in the Sky (2015), a war thriller about remote killing. Colonel Katherine Powell runs a drone operation meant to capture a terrorist cell in Nairobi.
When surveillance reveals the group is arming suicide vests, the order shifts from capture to kill. Then a nine-year-old girl sets up her bread stall right inside the blast radius. From there the film lives at the monitors rather than on a battlefield: Helen Mirren commands from a bunker, Aaron Paul freezes at the drone controls unable to fire, and Alan Rickman, in one of his final roles, drags the decision up through the chain of command.
Director Gavin Hood made a tight chamber drama about pushbutton warfare, weighing one child's life against many. A war thriller for viewers who care more about the moral choice than the firefight. Watch it on iFILM.
