Batman (Seasons 1–3)

Batman (1966–1968) is ABC's classic camp superhero series — all three seasons are available to watch online on iFILM. Adam West played Bruce Wayne and his caped alter ego, with Burt Ward as his ward Dick Grayson, better known as Robin. The show was produced by Greenway Productions in association with 20th Century Fox.

By day, Gotham's wealthiest socialite keeps his schedule suspiciously clear. By night, the Batpole drops both men into the Batcave, the Batmobile roars out, and Commissioner Gordon's call sets the plot in motion. Each episode brought a different villain: Cesar Romero's Joker, Frank Gorshin's Riddler, Burgess Meredith's Penguin, Eartha Kitt and Julie Newmar trading off as Catwoman. The traps grew more elaborate with every episode — and Batman always had exactly the right gadget on his utility belt. Yvonne Craig joined in season three as Batgirl.

ABC ran the show twice a week — unusual for the era. 120 episodes, deliberate Pop Art colour, and a deadpan delivery that played the absurdity completely straight turned it into a cultural artefact. Stream every season of Batman online on iFILM.
