Synopsis
Steve Jobs (2015) is Danny Boyle's biographical drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Michael Fassbender plays the Apple founder backstage at three product launches spread across fourteen years.
This is no cradle-to-grave biopic. Boyle stages it as three near-theatrical acts unfolding in real time: the minutes before Jobs walks out with the Macintosh in 1984, the NeXT cube in 1988, and the iMac in 1998. Each time the same people corner him in the wings. Marketing chief Joanna Hoffman (Kate Winslet) tries to keep him human. Co-founder Steve Wozniak (Seth Rogen) wants the team credited. An ex-girlfriend brings the daughter he won't acknowledge. CEO John Sculley (Jeff Daniels) settles old scores.
Aaron Sorkin wrote the script from the biography Walter Isaacson built with Jobs's own cooperation, and the dialogue moves like rapid-fire music with no pause for breath. The film asks one blunt question: can a great man also be a good one. Stream Steve Jobs (2015) online on iFILM.
