Adam and Alex have been running the hydroponics base alone for three years, with their dog Sally as their only company. When Captain Benson arrives — Harvey Keitel in an early menacing turn — he brings Hector: a next-generation humanoid robot built to accelerate their research. Hector is trained by mirroring its operator. That becomes the problem. Benson is violent, possessive, and unstable, and the machine learns from what it sees.
