About

Synopsis

The Yellow Handkerchief (2009) is a quiet road drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Udayan Prasad. Brett, just released from prison, hitches a ride through the Louisiana bayou with two teenagers: restless runaway Martine and Gordy, who is plainly in love with her.

William Hurt brings real weight to Brett — a man still reckoning with the woman he left behind and the years he cannot reclaim. Kristen Stewart and Eddie Redmayne handle the younger half of the story with an easy, unforced chemistry. The film is adapted from Pete Hammill's 1971 short story, and it trusts the landscape — slow water, flat highways, long silences — to do as much as the dialogue. Three lonely people, one shared drive, and a question that hangs over all of it. Stream The Yellow Handkerchief (2009) on iFILM.
