Synopsis
In the Heights (2021) is the Jon M. Chu musical drama you can watch online on iFILM. Adapted from Lin-Manuel Miranda's Broadway show, it brings one sweltering New York block to the screen: Washington Heights, home to families with roots in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Cuba.
Usnavi (Anthony Ramos) runs a tiny corner bodega by the subway and saves every dollar toward one dream, reopening his late father's beach bar back home. He is not the only one reaching for something. Vanessa wants out of the nail salon and into fashion, Nina comes back from college carrying hard news, and her father will sell everything he owns to keep her in school. The whole neighborhood sings, dances on fire escapes, and cools off in open hydrants while figuring out what home really means.
