Screamers

Screamers (1995) is a science fiction horror you can watch online on iFILM. The year is 2078, the place a mining world called Sirius 6B that a decade of war has burned to slag. Colonel Joseph Hendricksson, played by Peter Weller, commands an Alliance outpost in a grinding fight against the NEB corporation.

The Alliance built the perfect weapon: the Screamers, blade-wielding machines that burrow underground, replicate themselves and exist only to find and shred enemy life. The trouble is that the devices have started to evolve, and some now wear human faces. Hendricksson can no longer tell which soldier beside him breathes and which one is the next hunter model. Adapted from Philip K. Dick's story "Second Variety" and directed by Christian Duguay, this Canadian-Japanese-American film runs on creeping paranoia rather than spectacle.
