Cabrini

Cristiana Dell'Anna plays a woman doctors said had no business still being alive, yet she went on to build a network of orphanages, hospitals and schools across the United States. John Lithgow plays the stone-faced mayor she needed to win over; Giancarlo Giannini and David Morse round out a cast that brings Gilded Age New York to uncomfortable life. Monteverde frames Cabrini not as a saintly figure but as a relentless organiser — someone who knew how to read a room, negotiate a contract, and outlast every official who told her no.
