BlacKkKlansman

BlacKkKlansman (2018) is Spike Lee's crime drama with a streak of biting comedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Colorado Springs, the tail end of the 1970s. A Black cop picks up the phone, dials the local Ku Klux Klan chapter, and signs himself up.

The voice on the line belongs to detective Ron Stallworth (John David Washington). The face that shows up to meetings belongs to Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), his Jewish colleague. One identity, two men. The scheme sounds like a joke, yet it pulls the pair steadily up the chain, all the way toward Klan leader David Duke. The deeper the cover, the thinner the wire they balance on.

The script grew out of the memoir of a real officer who worked undercover inside the racist underground. Lee shoots it angry, funny and deliberately uncomfortable, splicing broad farce with documentary footage and an ending that lands like a punch.
