Ride with the Devil

Ride with the Devil (1999) is a Civil War drama you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Ang Lee, the film follows a band of Confederate guerrilla fighters along the Missouri-Kansas border — a brutal no-man's-land where the formal armies rarely appeared and neighbor killed neighbor. Tobey Maguire, Skeet Ulrich, Jeffrey Wright, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Tom Wilkinson, and a young Mark Ruffalo make up an unusually strong ensemble across 138 minutes.

Jake Roedel (Maguire) and his best friend Jack Bull Chiles (Ulrich) join the bushwhackers after Jack's father is murdered by Union sympathizers. They ride under the Confederate flag, but their war is personal. A winter spent hiding in a dugout, raids and ambushes that grow harder to justify — and beside them, a Black partisan named Holt (Jeffrey Wright) whose presence in their company quietly dismantles everything the Southern cause claims to stand for.
