About

Synopsis

Moby Dick (1956) is John Huston's seafaring epic you can watch online on iFILM, starring Gregory Peck as the iron-willed Captain Ahab and Orson Welles in a standout supporting turn as a fiery preacher.

Young sailor Ishmael boards the whaling ship Pequod expecting a routine voyage out of New Bedford. What he gets is something else entirely. Captain Ahab lost his leg to a great white sperm whale, and every decision he makes at sea is shaped by that loss. He binds the crew to his cause — part oath, part fear — and steers the Pequod toward the equatorial waters where the creature last struck. The chase lasts three days.

Ray Bradbury wrote the screenplay, adapting Herman Melville's 1851 novel — a cornerstone of American literature. Huston shot in muted, almost painterly tones to evoke nineteenth-century whaling prints. Stream Moby Dick online on iFILM — a film that turns a whale hunt into a meditation on obsession and its cost.
