The Last Unicorn

The Last Unicorn (1982) is an animated fantasy you can watch online on iFILM. A unicorn living in a quiet lilac wood discovers she may be the only one of her kind left alive. So she leaves home to learn whether it's true.

A chattering butterfly drops a riddle: a monstrous creature called the Red Bull drove the rest of her kind away. Along the road she gathers an odd little band — Schmendrick, a bumbling magician whose spells tend to misfire, and Molly Grue, a weathered woman who spent her whole life hoping to see a unicorn. Their path leads to the bleak seaside castle of King Haggard. The voice cast features Mia Farrow, Alan Arkin, Angela Lansbury, Christopher Lee and Jeff Bridges.

Adapted from Peter S. Beagle's beloved 1968 novel, the film was produced by Rankin/Bass and animated by Japan's Topcraft, the studio whose artists would later help found Studio Ghibli.
