Synopsis
A Night at the Roxbury (1998) is John Fortenberry's comedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. The Butabi brothers spend their days behind the counter of their dad's flower shop and their nights bobbing their heads in unison to Haddaway while striking out with every woman in the club.
Doug (Chris Kattan) and Steve (Will Ferrell) want one thing: to get past the velvet rope at the impossibly exclusive Roxbury. A fender bender with actor Richard Grieco finally gets them inside, where they are mistaken for big spenders and meet the women of their dreams. The pair hatch a plan to open a club of their own, while their fed-up father (Dan Hedaya) just wants his grown sons to finally act their age.
The film grew out of the famous Saturday Night Live sketch built around the same two head-bobbing lounge lizards. It is a goofy, good-natured comedy about refusing to grow up, stuffed wall to wall with 1990s dance-pop. A young Eva Mendes and Michael Clarke Duncan turn up in small roles.
