Synopsis
The Limey (1999) is a crime thriller by Steven Soderbergh you can watch online on iFILM. Terence Stamp plays Wilson, a hard-edged British ex-convict who lands in Los Angeles nine years after a prison sentence with one thing on his mind: his daughter is dead and he does not accept the accident verdict.
Eduardo (Luis Guzmán), a man who knew Jenny in her last weeks, points Wilson toward Terry Valentine (Peter Fonda) — an aging record producer with money, charm and something to hide. What follows is not a straightforward revenge march. Soderbergh splinters the timeline into fragments, looping scenes back on themselves, cutting from past to future and back, so the film feels more like memory than plot. Wilson's method is blunt; the filmmaking around him is anything but.
Stamp carries the whole picture on barely a sentence at a time — a performance built from stillness and economy. Shot two years before Traffic, The Limey shows Soderbergh in the same register: lean, precise, uninterested in explaining itself. Stream The Limey (1999) on iFILM.
