Synopsis
Clannad: The Motion Picture (2007) is a Japanese animated drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Osamu Dezaki for Toei Animation. Based on Key's beloved visual novel, the film condenses the story to 94 minutes: loner Tomoya Okazaki (voiced by Kenji Nojima) has been sleepwalking through high school since his mother died, until quiet, determined Nagisa Furukawa (Mai Nakahara) asks him to help her restart the school drama club.
The premise is small on purpose. Two students, a path lined with cherry blossoms, a shared project that neither expects to matter. What changes is Tomoya — slowly, as Nagisa's warmth and her family's openness chip away at the walls he built. Each supporting character carries a wound of their own, and the drama comes from people letting each other in rather than shutting each other out.
Fans of the source novel will find the pacing compressed and some routes absent, but as a standalone introduction to the Clannad world it holds together well. Watch Clannad: The Motion Picture (2007) online on iFILM.
