Synopsis

Surviving with Wolves (2007) is a French-Belgian-German war drama you can watch online on iFILM. Director Véra Belmont adapted the controversial memoir by Misha Defonseca: a Jewish girl crosses occupied Europe on foot through the winter of 1942, searching for her deported parents. Mathilde Goffart and Yaël Abecassis lead the cast.

Eight-year-old Misha walks east — through forests, across borders, through snow — alone. She steals bread to eat. A pack of wolves in the Polish woods accepts her, and she learns to move with them, sleep near them, trust them more than the humans she encounters along the way. Four years of wandering. Benno Fürmann appears in a minor role, one of the few people who briefly become a point of safety.

This is war cinema stripped of battles — what's left is the slow terror of a child navigating a continent that has stopped being safe. If you want something quiet, cold, and morally unsettling about World War II, Surviving with Wolves delivers that without flinching. Watch it online on iFILM.
