Synopsis
The Little Prince (2015) is an animated feature by Mark Osborne you can watch online on iFILM. A young girl is raised by a mother who has mapped out every hour of her days: study, school prep, no nonsense and almost no time for friends.
The careful plan unravels because of a neighbor — an elderly aviator whose ramshackle house sits right against their tidy lot. He is forever repairing an old plane in the yard, and he starts telling the girl a story he picked up long ago in the desert: a boy from a tiny planet, a rose, a fox, and grown-ups who forgot how to see what matters. Osborne films the two worlds in different skins. The girl's routine is sleek CG, while the aviator's memories come alive in rough stop-motion, paper and clay folded like pages out of the book itself.
The voice cast is deep — Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard, Benicio del Toro, Paul Rudd and James Franco among them. It draws on Antoine de Saint-Exupery's novella, one of the most widely read books ever printed, and screened out of competition at Cannes. Stream The Little Prince (2015) online on iFILM.
