Knowing

Knowing (2009) is a science-fiction thriller from director Alex Proyas that you can watch online on iFILM. MIT astrophysicist John Koestler raises his son alone after losing his wife, and he has stopped believing anything happens for a reason.

A time capsule sealed fifty years earlier is opened at the boy's school. Inside is a page covered in nothing but numbers. Koestler realizes they are dates of disasters, each one paired with a death toll and a location, every major tragedy of the last half century. Three of the predictions have yet to come true. He tracks down Diana (Rose Byrne), daughter of the girl who wrote the page, and together they try to work out who whispered the future to a child.

Nicolas Cage carries the film from quiet dread to a plane crash staged as one unbroken shot. Proyas, the director of Dark City and The Crow, fuses hard sci-fi with an almost biblical ending that split audiences down the middle. Stream Knowing (2009) online on iFILM.
