Synopsis
The Great War (2019) is an American war film directed by Steven Luke — watch online on iFILM. It is November 1918. Armistice is days away, but a unit of American soldiers gets one last mission: cross into enemy territory and bring back a lost platoon of African American troops.
Ron Perlman and Billy Zane lead the cast in this close-quarters rescue story. The film draws on a genuinely under-told chapter of World War I — Black American soldiers who served under French command, kept separate from a segregated US military.
