Synopsis
Before Dawn (2024) is an Australian war drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jordon Prince-Wright and drawn from the personal diary entries of real ANZAC soldiers who served on the Western Front during World War I.
Jim Collins (Levi Miller) leaves his family's sheep property in the outback and enlists, expecting something other than what he finds: the slow grind of trench warfare, mud, waiting, and the particular weight of keeping men alive when the odds are against it. The film traces his unit through one of the less-celebrated but genuinely significant Australian military actions of that war — the kind where the victory is real and the cost lands fully only afterwards. Travis Jeffrey and Ed Oxenbould support.
Prince-Wright made this without a major studio budget, and it shows in some places — but the commitment to the source material is genuine throughout. It's a modest, earnest film rather than a spectacle, and for viewers interested in the ANZAC story beyond Gallipoli, that's actually the point. Stream Before Dawn (2024) online on iFILM.
