A little mouse named Olivia turns up at his door: her father, a master toymaker, was snatched away right in front of her. With the warm-hearted Dr. Dawson and a loyal dog named Toby, Basil takes the case. The clues lead straight to Professor Ratigan, a scheming rat who dreams of ruling the whole mouse kingdom. Vincent Price voices the villain, and his oily cackle sticks with you longer than any chase.

Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, who would later make The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, the film stages its showdown inside the gears of Big Ben — one of Disney's first scenes to blend traditional animation with computer graphics.
