Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Star date: 1986. How on Earth can they save the future?
Synopsis
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) is the sci-fi adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Leonard Nimoy directed it and returned as Spock. Captain Kirk's crew heads back to Earth, only to find the planet under attack from something nobody can answer.
A massive alien probe has parked itself in orbit, boiling away the oceans and broadcasting a signal in the song of humpback whales. The catch: by the 23rd century, those whales are extinct. So Kirk (William Shatner), Spock, Dr. McCoy and the others take a captured Klingon ship and slingshot back to 1986 San Francisco, the last place to find a living whale. A marine biologist named Gillian Taylor (Catherine Hicks) gets pulled into a rescue she can barely believe.
The fourth chapter swaps space battles for fish-out-of-water comedy, dropping starship officers into a world of punks, payphones and buses that won't behave. It became the highest-grossing Star Trek film up to that point and hooked plenty of viewers who had never seen the earlier movies. Stream Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) online on iFILM.
