The Core

The Core (2003) is a sci-fi disaster thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Geophysicist Josh Keyes uncovers the worst news imaginable: Earth's core has stopped spinning, and the planet's magnetic field is falling apart.

Strip away that shield and the atmosphere starts tearing itself open — birds lose their bearings, storms turn lethal, and soon nothing will stand between us and the sun. The only way out is straight down. Keyes assembles a crew of scientists and pilots, and an experimental burrowing craft drives them through the mantle toward the center of the world. The plan borders on insane: haul nuclear charges to the core and blast it back into motion. Thousands of kilometers below the surface, one mistake kills all six. Aaron Eckhart, Hilary Swank, Delroy Lindo and Stanley Tucci lead the cast.
