Synopsis
St. Elsewhere (1982–1988) is the NBC medical drama you can watch online on iFILM — six seasons that ran from October 1982 through May 1988 and quietly rewrote what a hospital series could do. No clean victories, no heroic music swells. Just a struggling Boston hospital and the people trying to keep it running.
William Daniels, Ed Flanders, and Norman Lloyd anchor the show as attending physicians overseeing interns who landed at the least glamorous hospital in the city. The roster of young doctors coming through the program included Mark Harmon, Bruce Greenwood, and an early-career Denzel Washington — before any of them were famous.
Executive producer Bruce Paltrow and the writing staff built something that ER and every procedural after it would draw from. The medicine was real; the moral questions were harder. Stream all seasons of St. Elsewhere on iFILM.
