Synopsis

The Fury (1978) is Brian De Palma's paranoid psychic thriller — watch online on iFILM. Kirk Douglas plays Peter Sandza, a former CIA operative whose teenage son Robin carries a rare telekinetic gift. On a quiet trip to the Middle East, Robin is snatched by a covert programme that treats psychic ability as a deployable weapon, not a human condition.

To find his son, Peter tracks down Gillian, a young woman played by Amy Irving who shares Robin's powers. She can read trauma through touch alone. The man pulling strings inside the shadowy institute is Peter's former partner, played by John Cassavetes — a betrayal that sharpens everything. De Palma builds a world where the government is the monster and extraordinary people are just raw material.

Based on John Farris's novel and shot by cinematographer Richard H. Kline, the film is built on slow-motion excess and whiplash editing — a style De Palma had refined since Carrie two years earlier. Stream The Fury (1978) online on iFILM, a nerve-wire thriller that still packs a punch.
