Boyhood

Boyhood (2014) is Richard Linklater's drama you can watch online on iFILM. It follows one boy in something close to real time: the same cast came back to film for a few days every year across twelve years, so you literally watch them age on screen.

Mason is six when we meet him, lying in the grass and staring at the sky. By the end he is eighteen and leaving for college. In between come new towns, new stepfathers, his parents' divorce, a first girlfriend, arguments about music and Harry Potter. Patricia Arquette plays the mother holding two kids and her own unfinished life together. Ethan Hawke is the father who seems to grow up slower than his son. Lorelei Linklater, the director's daughter, plays Mason's older sister.
